Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
In this 4 week class, students will explore 4 habitats (wetlands, deserts, rainforests, and polar habitats) and the animals that live there. They will create a project each week and play group games to review what was learned.

Week 1: Wetlands- Students will learn about 4 different wetlands (bogs, swamps, ponds, and marshes) through a vibrant presentation. They will play "Name That Wetland!" and will create a mini 3D model of their favorite wetland.

Week 2: Deserts- Students will learn about the different plants and animals that live in the desert and discuss how they survive in this habitat. They will share their favorite desert animal with the class and create a 2D textured desert art piece.

Week 3: Rainforests- Students will learn about the layers of a rainforest and the animals that live in each layer. They will create 2D or 3D models of a rainforest and will sort animals into the correct layers.

Week 4: Polar Habitats- Students will learn the difference between the Arctic and Antarctica through a vibrant presentation. They will discuss the animals that live there and how they survive in this habitat. They will play "Name That Polar Animal" and create the polar animal craft of their choice.

Students do not need to have any prior knowledge about habitats in order to participate in this class.

I look forward to teaching your children!
