Class Experience
In this 4 week class, students will explore 4 habitats (wetlands, deserts, rainforests, and polar habitats) and the animals that live there. They will create a project each week and play group games to review what was learned. Week 1: Wetlands- Students will learn about 4 different wetlands (bogs, swamps, ponds, and marshes) through a vibrant presentation. I am a certified elementary school teacher. I taught science in the live classroom for 5 years and here on Outschool for 2 years.
The art materials for all of the projects are flexinle; you can use whatever you have on hand. Here are some suggestions: Week 1: Wetlands- A paper plate/piece of cardboard/paper Colored paper Scissors Glue Coloring materials Toys (plants, animals) Week 2: Deserts- Colored paper Scissors Glue Coloring materials or paint Rice/oats/sand Week 3: Rainforests- A cardboard box or piece of paper Colored paper Scissors Glue Coloring materials Toys (plants, animals) Week 4: Polar Habitats- Colored paper Scissors Glue Coloring materials If you have any questions or concerns about materials, please contact me. I am always able to come up with alternatives!
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Some students may need help with the projects (using scissors, etc...)
