I will write a latter identifying how many sessions the student attended, level of participation, and content reviewed in the class upon request.Class Experience
US Grade 6 - 9
In this weekly class, students will explore key aspects of different countries. Generally, students will be introduced to its location, language, population, important historic information, government type, social aspects (e.g. celebrations, traditional dance/dress), gastronomy, and more. This includes fun facts as well. The course is set up as a lecture with the use of slides, pictures, and videos but we will discuss the content together throughout class and share experiences if applicable. No prior experience/knowledge is needed. Because the course is set up as a lecture, this is not a class that is actively engaging the students. I focus on giving the information and we discuss it as needed, but often times because the information is so new, it is difficult for the students to provide a lot of input throughout the lesson on their own. As such, if the student requires a lot of engaging, this will not be an appropriate lesson for him/her. The class is meant to be mainly educational and informative like in a regular classroom. Although I will attempt to increase student engagement, please know that this is not always possible with the current set-up of the class. All information provided will come from reputable sources and will include only facts and no information which can be subjective in nature. Other Details
Parental Guidance
I will state factual information about countries including government type and statistics for demographics. The information will come from reputable sources and will not be discussed further outside of providing the pertinent information. No discussions about politics, religion, or other sensitive topics will be covered. This includes no deep dives into cultural aspects either as I lack the level of expertise to discuss that content in depth.
