Hi! Let's explore! In this class, your young learner will be introduced to the basic skills they would need to survive in the wilderness. At the beginning of class, we will do a quick meet and greet. I may ask questions such as, "What is your favorite activity to do outside?" or "What do you see outside your window?". Next, your child will learn about "pacing" and how to count the paces to get somewhere. This will be a movement activity so they will need space near the device they're taking the class. Then, your child will learn three (3) basic needs to survive in the wilderness. There will be a short visual presentation. Lastly, learners will be introduced to a compass and learn the cardinal directions, "North", "South", "East" and "West". *There will be a coloring document provided for learners to color during class. It will have pictures of the three (3) basic needs for survival as well as a compass. *I will go over four (4) expectations at the beginning of class. Learners are encouraged to have "listening ears", "eyes on the screen", "loud and proud voices", and practice "raising hands". *Please make sure learners have space to move around during class. *Siblings may watch but for safety purposes be seated off camera.
