In this class, we will focus on the most common sounds made by a different set of letters each week. We will: * practice each sound * share objects from our house that contain the sound * make a list of words that contain the sound * practice forming the lowercase letter in a sensory tray (salt or sand in a small cookie sheet, playdough rolled flat, or paint in a well sealed plastic bag all work well-see link below for ideas) * listen to a short story. Students will develop relationships between letter and sounds. Students will learn to write lowercase letters.
Objects that begin with each letter covered for the week. Sensory tray for tracing letters or paper and pencil/crayons/markers
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
