US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
Join Miss Mackenzie in this self-paced course where we will learn about, draw, and explore the 7 continents of the world! Each week, we will learn about a different continent through interactive lessons and activities. Each week I have a pre-recorded lesson where I provide real-life pictures and facts about each of the continents. These engaging lessons end in a quiz to review what we have learned. I also provide a coloring page/map of the 7 continents, and a worksheet that allows learners to take notes or draw as they are listening to each lesson. I also provide a "virtual field trip" review game via Nearpod each week! The information covered will include facts about each continent, such as weather, landmarks, resources, plants, animals, and fun facts. Schedule: Week 1: Asia Week 2: Africa Week 3: North America Week 4: South America Week 5: Antarctica Week 6: Europe Week 7: Australia --Course Layout-- There will be no live meetings in this course. Video lessons will be provided weekly for seven weeks that will include that week's information along with a 2 Nearpod modules. I will provide pre-recorded lessons that are 15-20 minutes long, and learners are able to pause and resume as needed. I will also provide a map/coloring page of the 7 continents, as well as a note-taking paper. Learners can post their completed drawings or notes in the classroom page. Each week's material should take learners anywhere from 30-45 minutes to complete. --Weekly Schedule-- Pre-recorded videos and modules will be posted weekly. --Learner and Teacher Interaction-- I will provide the video lessons and Nearpod modules each week, so learners can complete them at their own pace. Learners are welcome to post their drawings, notes, or activities in the classroom page after completion. I will respond to each post and provide feedback. I believe learners learn best and retain the most information when they are having fun. I aim to keep all of my lessons engaging and upbeat! Learners and parents can message me any questions or concerns they have at any point. I try my best to respond to all messages within 24 hours.
Learning Goals
Learners will improve their understanding and knowledge of each of the 7 continents.

Bachelor's Degree in Science from Indiana University
Hi friends! My name is Miss Mackenzie. Welcome to my profile!
The classes that I love to teach are social studies, geography, and circle time for young learners!
I graduated from Indiana University in 2019 with my bachelors degree in Allied Health Sciences. I worked as an ABA Therapist/Registered Behavior Technician for over 3 years. I worked primarily with elementary aged kiddos on the autism spectrum! I have been teaching online since 2021 and love every minute of it.
My teaching philosophy includes setting my learners up for success, as well as having fun in the classroom! I like to utilize games, activities, and art. I want each student to succeed and feel safe when I am their teacher! I truly believe that learners learn best when they are having fun. This is why each of my classes feature some sort of drawing or sharing activity.
I absolutely love being a mom and spending time with family! I have a three year old daughter, a one year old daughter, and a fur baby (a four year old silver Labrador Retriever.) I'm from the Midwest and I love camping, boating, and pretty much anything outdoors!
