US Grade 3 - 6
No live meetings will take place. Within the first few days of class each student should post in the classroom and introduce themselves. Here they can share a fun fact about themselves. Each week will cover a different topic. During our classes, interaction will take place such as through discussion questions and sharing work. Each class will be conducted in the following format: There will be a short video lecture where a worksheet will be provided to your learner to follow along with and take notes on. Then there will be a second video providing more in-depth information about that week's topic. Another worksheet will be provided to assist in taking key notes. And finally there will be a fun STEM based homework assignment each week. Instructions will be provided. There will be in class discussion through the online Outschool classroom chat, regarding what they learned during the week, what they would like to know more of, and discussion about the homework projects. Some of the homework assignments will involve making soda straw rockets, analyzing the moon phases, building a moon rover, and making a telescope. As a reminder, during our classes, interaction will take place such as through discussion questions and sharing work. I will keep in contact with students weekly via message to make sure they are understanding content, keeping up with work, and if they have questions or comments.

My name is Jeff Reynolds and I love to teach!
On Outschool, I will have a broad range of classes: English, art, science, math, SAT Test preparation, history, travel and public speaking. I have my Bachelor's Degree in TESOL Fundamentals and Methodology, and I have been a teacher since 2000. I have taught many different ages, ranging from age 4 to age 18, and I currently am an ESL teacher as well. For the past 9 years, my wife and I were living and studying in Egypt, which really helps to strengthen and benefit the information in my ancient Egypt related classes. We are in fact hoping to return to Egypt very soon to resume our studies. My wife and I love traveling around the world, the outdoors, and good food. I believe that all children deserve to have a quality education that they can truly benefit from and enjoy. Learning should always be fun. If learning becomes a chore, the desire to continue learning slowly dies away. When learning is fun, students have the chance to increase their knowledge and increase their potential for success later in life. Children deserve a fun and safe learning environment.
