We will welcome students to class and share class rules. We will begin a slideshow with the characteristics of mammals and use an original song to aid retention. We will look at pictures of mammals and children will each get multiple turns to identify what they see. We will practice movement by pretending to be certain mammals. We will learn interesting facts about certain mammals. We will review our song. We will play a game of I Spy to aid retention. If time allows, children may share something that has to do with mammals or another topic of interest to them. *This class is also a part of my Natural Sciences ongoing course*
Learning Goals
Students will learn universal and individual identifying characteristics of mammals.
Students will learn the names of many mammals.
Students will learn an original song about mammals.
Students will practice social skills while taking turns and helping each other, if needed.
Students will practice critical thinking skills while playing I Spy.

Students may use the optional worksheets, and if they would like to work on them during class, they should have appropriate coloring utensils.
