This is a one-time, 50-minute class that meets over LIVE video. During this class, learners will be taught about Human Anatomy at a level perfect for 9-13 year-olds! Ms. Jackie uses colorful and well-developed slides with fun pictures, diagrams, clear text, and interactive activities to present the material. The class will include the following topics in a slide presentation style format. There will be fun review "games" and questions (class participation) throughout. Topics: ⇢ How is human anatomy studied? ⇢ What is anatomical position? ⇢ Basic planes of reference (median, sagittal, frontal, transverse) ⇢ Basic terms of reference (medial, lateral, anterior, posterior, superior, inferior) ⇢ All About your Body: Various body systems and regions ⇢ Types of Cells ⇢ Bones ⇢ Muscles ⇢ Joints ⇢ Basic definitions/functions of bones, joints, muscles, nerves ⇢ Basic types of movements at different joints in the body ⇢ Skin ⇢ Your brain and nervous system ⇢ Eyes ⇢ Ears ⇢ Nose ⇢ Tongue ⇢ How we feel/touch ⇢ Digestive System ⇢ Your heart and circulation ⇢ Your lungs and how we breathe (respiration) ⇢ Your immune system ⇢ How to take care of your body ⇢ and MORE! No prior background knowledge is necessary to succeed in this class!

Parental Guidance
There is a possibility that some students (especially those who have never studied human anatomy) may be sensitive to seeing human anatomy images as these images show the inside structures of the human body. Images used in this class are animated/drawings and not real photos. The images are a representation of the body structures, showing differing aspects and layers (skin, muscles, bones, nerves, etc...). Parents, please just be aware of this, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns for your learner!
