In this ongoing class students will develop and practice a variety of realistic drawing techniques. We will be covering multiple aspects of drawing including shading, proportion, observation, artistic composition and more. The class is taught through a combination of live instruction and powerpoint instructions with live drawing. Each student will be sharing the drawings that they are working on during class and will be able to receive encouragement and tips for improvement. This is a great class for any child with an interest in drawing who desires to improve their skills in realistic drawing or for students who just enjoy spending their time drawing. This class is designed for students of all skill levels. Each Week We Will Cover a different topic: Week of Nov 18: Magical Realism Week of Nov 25: Human Figure and Gesture Drawing Week of Dec 2: Drawing Faces and Portraits Week of Dec 9: Light and Shadow Shading Study Week of Dec

Supply List
Students should have several sheets of paper for drawing for each class. Additionally they should each have at least one drawing pencil, a pencil sharpener and one eraser. For those who would like to purchase multiple pencils for their child, pencils are available in a variety of shades from dark to light and can be found in most art supply stores. In this case, it is recommended to have at least one medium darkness pencil and one extra dark pencil.
