In this one-time fun, low-pressure class, learners will draw dragons together -- and add some rainbow flair to their creations!
Class experience
In this fun, one-time drawing class, learners will be able to interact with one another in brainstorming the characteristics, abilities, special powers, and habitat/environment of their Rainbow Dragon character. This class is designed to be fun and low-pressure; there is no wrong way to draw a dragon! This class is designed so that learners can draw any kind of dragon that they like -- one from Wings of Fire, or How To Train Your Dragon, a mash-up of styles, or one that they've designed...
Learning goals for this class include creative thinking in deciding what kind or type of dragon they want to draw and how they'll include rainbows (whether in the background or as part of the dragon itself). Students will also be encouraged to talk with one another about their ideas (brainstorming skills as well as peer social interaction). Students will also learn about penciling, inking, and coloring as well as using their imaginations to create a unique Rainbow Dragon.
Students will need paper and something to draw with -- pencils, colored pencils, crayons, markers will all work; learners should use what they have at hand and enjoy drawing with. Learners who prefer to draw on tablets are also welcome.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
