In this one-time class students will draw, paint and learn a little about the Emerald Tree Boa This is a non-venomous boa species that is considered to be one of the most beautiful snakes in the world. They are known for their beautiful emerald green color. I will show images of real Emerald tree boa snakes at the beginning of class and as needed while we paint. We will start of by drawing the tree Next students will draw the snake wrapped around the tree following me step by step Students will sketch in the markings for the snakes skin We will add some trees in the distance Students will finish by painting the snake and background Note: Please do not use printer/copy paper...children are disappointed when their work is floppy and doesn't hold up to painting. If you are unable to get a watercolor pad then mixed media would be another choice. A drawing paper pad, though not meant for painting could work as the paper is a little sturdier.
Learning Goals
Improve drawing and painting skills.
