Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Carrie Raleigh and I am currently an Elementary Art teacher in Southern California. Previously in my career, I ran field trip programs and public programs for environmental non-profits. I also worked for my local Girl Scout council where I ran STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programs. When I am not teaching or doing artsy things, I love to hike, read, and explore the world around me. I am a huge Harry Potter fan. My favorite artists are Frida Kahlo and Keith Haring.
I have a BA’s in Visual Art and Psychology. I also have a Master’s in Education in Curriculum and Instruction. A highlight of my career was being selected by the California State Superintendent of Schools to be part of a taskforce on Environmental Literacy. I worked with a select group of educators from around the state to make recommendations to increase Environmental Education opportunities throughout California.
I love to share my passion for the outdoors and the arts with others. Education should be all about exploring the opportunities our world has to offer and finding new ways to look at the world around you. I look forward to seeing you for some fun classes on watercolor painting, 3D sculpture, drawing, nature journaling, composting, and wildlife.
I am happy to schedule any of my one time classes as a scout meeting, birthday party, or friend group experience! Let me know if you are interested.
