Class Experience

Over the course of 3 days, young artists will learn how to draw three of my kawaii style animals enjoying the summer in cute ways. Each day will be dedicated to drawing one animal and their activity. In the beginning of class, I will check that each student is present and then I will conduct a short ice breaker. The remaining duration of class we will be drawing. Steps will be broken down to the simplest form by using common shapes that we are familiar with like circles and lines. After we are finished with our drawings, we will then move on to coloring. My teaching style is patient, fun and encouraging. My main concern, outside of teaching, is that each student is confident and comfortable. No experience is needed for this class. This class is meant to teach learners how to draw “creative” kawaii style pictures. The animals are each engaging in different simple activities meaning we will be learning how to draw animals holding objects and more.

Below is a breakdown of the week:

Day 1: an adorable cat eating a watermelon
Day 2: a cute koala relaxing in a donut pool floaty
Day 3: a rainbow unicorn enjoying ice cream with sprinkles

The picture that you see for this class (above) is my original artwork and it is a glimpse of one of the animals we’ll be drawing together.

Grab your supplies, bring your excitement and let’s create an overload of cuteness over the next three days!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach art classes for all ages and experience levels. My drawing styles include semi realistic, anime and Kawaii.
I have been drawing every since I was young and have had the pleasure to work on a couple of freelance projects over the years for musicians, authors and personal requests. Outside of my love for art, I am a mother, an Army Vet and an ESL teacher. My techniques are broken down to the simplest form in order to help every student understand how to create art. I believe drawing is a beautiful ability that everyone possesses. This ability allows a person to express something invisible from their imagination into something tangible that they can kept forever. The feeling of completing an art piece is amazing in itself. Unlocking those abilities in others is something I love doing. I like to view my personality as patient, understanding and fun. It’s important to me that these qualities are conveyed in class to help children feel comfortable and confident in what they’re doing.
