Class Experience

Let's draw in Italian! An art class and social club for Fluent Speakers

In this ongoing class, students will draw according to the theme of the week and socialize in Italian. In class I will speak only speak Italian and students will be able to socialize with other native, bilingual, or advanced speakers.

The class follows fun themes that students will enjoy learning and discussing. The class will be structured in the following way:
- Introductions and presentation of this week's theme
- Each learner will draw while I demonstrate my own drawing. We will discuss the drawing prompt, what we are drawing, and socialize. Students may copy my drawing, or create their own!
- Each learner is welcome to show their drawing at the end of class.

The goal for this class, is to continue improving the Italian language, while freely drawing in a relaxing learning environment. If your learner's drawing level is beginner, or advanced, then this class is still a great fit!

This is an ongoing course, so students may begin or leave the course at any time. The materials for this course in general are always: paper, a pencil, a thin black marker (optional). Students may bring any extra materials of their choice.

Week 1 of September 6th: Theme = Foods I love! We will draw foods we like, and discuss what foods we love.
Week 2 of September 13th: Theme = My favorite season. We will choose a season and draw something related to that season while discussing it.
Week 3 of September 20th: Theme = Imagination. We will draw something that is imaginary, or that doesn't exist. We will discuss hypothetical situations in Italian.
Week 4 of September 27th: Theme = My daily routine. We will draw something from our typical day and discuss what we like to do during the day or after school.
Week 5 of October 4th: Theme = Aquatic animals. We will draw animals that live in the ocean and discuss them in Italian.
Week 6 of October 11th: Theme = Pets and land animals. We will draw any animal of our choice and discuss what our favorite animals are.
Week 7 of October 18th: Theme = Halloween is here! We will draw a Halloween themed picture and discuss what Halloween traditions we have in Italy.
Week 8 of October 25th: Theme = It's cold! We will draw something themed around the word "cold". We will talk about our favorite winter activities.
Week 9 of November 1st: Theme = People! Who is someone that you look up to? Who would you like to draw? We will draw people that inspire us and discuss these people.

The required experience for this class, is to know Italian enough to be able to converse and understand me. I will not be speaking any English in this class. This class is for children who are able to converse freely about their interests, lives, and hobbies in Italian while drawing. I want my classes to be interactive, so all learners will get the chance to speak. Please make sure your learner is familiar with the "mute" and "ummute" zoom function.

My class policies:
*If you wish to cancel or be transferred to a different section, please let me know 24 hours before class stars. I do not refund missed meetings, but I always allow the recording to be available to learners.
*My class minimum is one learner, therefore, I will happily teach to one learner.
*Students must show themselves at least once on camera for me to verify the learners.
*If siblings want to share screens, that is fine. All learners on screen, must be officially enrolled in the class.
*Parents must stay off camera, per Outschool policy.
