Class Experience

In this one time class students will draw Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater house in 2 Point Perspective. Frank Lloyd Wright designed a summer-house in 1935 for the Kaufmann family over a waterfall in Pennsylvania. He called the house "Fallingwater". Some consider it is the most famous private home in the world. In 1991, members of the American Institute of Architects named it the "best all-time work of American architecture"

*Students need to be within the stated age range this class is aimed at please and understand 1 Point Perspective.

We will start of by looking at Images of the building and I will explain that this drawing is done in 2 point perspective
A horizon line with two vanishing points will be drawn
We will break the image down into simple shapes, starting off with the huge 3D rectangular shape towards the bottom
We will continue adding shapes onto it step by step
The waterfall, stones and trees will be sketched in
We will add a little shading
Focus in on completing the drawing but students may color as time permits.

This is a guided drawing class and I work step by step with my students

Teacher expertise and credentials
My teaching style: I am a rather introverted artist who teaches....I am told that I am patient, encouraging, focused, firm. I enjoy/work best with older students. I believe my students should be free to put their own creative touches on their work. I have limited experience with special needs students (ADHD, Autism etc) I hope this is helpful as you read through reviews and decide if your learner will be a good fit.

My name is Camille Jacks, originally from Jamaica, I have lived in the US since 1991. I was awarded a portfolio scholarship to attend The Savannah College of Art and Design where I earned a BFA in Computer Art and Animation and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
My hands are always busy and I love to teach myself new things. I draw, paint, knit & crochet (have written patterns for magazines) needle felt, dabble in origami, macramé, weaving and sewing.
I started my teaching journey as a Media Specialist at a private Elementary school in 2004 where my little girl attended. We moved to Georgia in 2007 and I worked for a company as a mobile computer teacher working with Preschool and Elementary school kids at various schools. The business did not survive so I started working for a company teaching art in the after school programs.
Before Coronavirus I was extremely busy teaching my own adult and kids classes and workshops (oil, watercolor and acrylic) at local county fine arts facilities plus Summer Art Camps. I also taught for a year at a Montessori school and simultaneously started my Outschool journey.
Once in a while I get to do something cool like be a guest demo artist (needle felting) at The High Museum of Art in Atlanta (July 2018). When I am not working I am a mom to a young adult daughter. a little bunny and a Diamond Dove.
