Class Experience

Students will get a chance to learn not only fundamentals in fine art drawing they can apply to all their artwork, but how to draw specific, detailed anatomy, step by step.

Many artists struggle with these bits of anatomy: the eyes, nose, mouth, hands, and feet, which is why I created 90-minute workshops focusing on each one. Due to popular demand, I've combined them together in a flexible schedule so more students can benefit!

Each week, I will post a lesson with related visuals and handouts to keep, as well as a video where we will go together, step by step, through the process of drawing that week's focus. Students will then share their work in the classroom, ask questions, and engage more with each other in the followup discussion topic (which will be related to the lesson we covered that week.) This gives students several opportunities to communicate and interact with everyone in the class.

The itinerary we will cover each week, both in the drawing lesson and discussion topic, is as follows:
Week one: the eyes
Week two: the nose and mouth
Week three: the hands
Week four: the feet

Supply List
Students can use whatever medium they are comfortable with in this flex class, even if it's just a pencil. I use charcoal, and can provide a list of those materials upon request. Otherwise, feel free to use the medium you are already used to! I've had students draw digitally, and use watercolor pencils, even!
