Class Experience

In this one time class we will draw a mom with her calf following behind.

I will start of by sharing my reference image of the mom and calf along with the website listee below with basic elephant information
For each drawing I will work step by step to break the animals down into simple shapes
Once we have the basic drawings we will add eyes, nose, mouth, tail and ears
A little shading will finish off each drawing
Feedback is offered and students are encouraged to share their work if they would like

This is a guided drawing/shading class

My teaching style: I am a rather introverted artist who teaches....I am told that I am patient, encouraging, focused, firm. I enjoy/work best with older students. I believe my students should be free to put their own creative touches on their work. I have limited experience with special needs students (ADHD, Autism etc) I hope this is helpful as you read through reviews and decide if your learner will be a good fit.

My name is Camille Jacks, originally from Jamaica, I have lived in the US since 1991. I was awarded a portfolio scholarship to attend The Savannah College of Art and Design where I earned a BFA in Computer Art and Animation and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
My hands are always busy and I love to teach myself new things. I draw, paint, knit & crochet (have written patterns for magazines) needle felt, dabble in origami, macramé, weaving and sewing.
I started my teaching journey as a Media Specialist at a private Elementary school in 2004 where my little girl attended. We moved to Georgia in 2007 and I worked for a company as a mobile computer teacher working with Preschool and Elementary school kids at various schools. The business did not survive so I started working for a company teaching art in the after school programs.
Before Coronavirus I was extremely busy teaching my own adult and kids classes and workshops (oil, watercolor and acrylic) at local county fine arts facilities plus Summer Art Camps. I also taught for a year at a Montessori school and simultaneously started my Outschool journey.
Once in a while I get to do something cool like be a guest demo artist (needle felting) at The High Museum of Art in Atlanta (July 2018). When I am not working I am a mom to a young adult daughter. a little bunny and a Diamond Dove.
