Let's Draw Different Types of Lines! (Creating Art, Fun, and Social Skills)

In this one time class, the children will learn and have fun drawing different types of lines (horizontal, zigzags, swirls, vertical, and many more) while having fun drawing fast and slow and socializing with their classmates.

Class Experience

In this one time class, the children will learn about different types of lines.  There are so many different lines to make when drawing and creating.  The children can have fun learning and drawing the standard lines such as "horizontal, straight, vertical, and diagonal."  Then we will have some fun learning and drawing "zig zags, clouds, dots, lightening, swirls, mouse ears, castles, loops, waves, and hills!"  Think of the fun we can have drawing these lines fast and slow!  The children will be encouraged to use their creativity and create a drawing or picture with the different lines.  Every student will have the opportunity to discuss which lines they like or do not like, and share their drawings with the class (if they want to).  So grab your markers, crayons, color pencils, and paper and let's have fun drawing together!

Supply List

Please bring your favorite drawing utensils(markers, crayons, pencils) and paper (or wipe off boards and markers) to draw with in class.  Thank you.

I have been teaching for the last 27 years in a variety of settings.  I have worked with children 3 to 12 years of age. I have created curriculum for 3-6 year old's, tutored, been a nanny, an assistant director, assistant teacher for early learners in the school district, and taught English (ESL) online.  I have a BA in Early Childhood Education and a BA in Psychology.  I love to find creative ways for children to learn and have fun!  I believe children learn best through a variety of means including: repetition, writing, movement, creativity, socialization, fun, and a positive attitude.  If I do not know the answer to a child's question, I will research it and let them know.  Knowledge is a powerful tool that can create a spark for future learning and life adventures.
