Are you a big fan of kawaii art? What about adorable cats and animals? If you're obsessed with either and looking for something to do, then this is the perfect summertime drawing class for you! I really love creating super cute designs featuring cats. This summer, we're doubling the cuteness with... a beach theme! (you can take a look at one of the cats I've designed on the class cover photo). In this class, we draw three different cat designs together. Our goal is to have fun, socialize a bit, and practice our drawing skills. I'll be walking you all through a step-by-step guide on how to draw each character. If we have any extra time leftover after completing the designs, we'll then talk about how you can add a background, extra details, or maybe some color to your artwork. I give learners complete creative control and freedom in my classes. This means you get to add whatever extra details to your artwork that makes it unique and special for you. The amount of time we have for this will vary depending on what speed we move through the steps at as a group. Learners with a variety of experience are welcome to join! I encourage learners with more skill and understanding to add onto their artwork in ways that make it engaging and enriching for them. I also break down the steps into very basic instructions when needed for learners with less drawing experience. This is a guided drawing class balanced with creative freedom. I always work alongside students with my drawing on a separate camera so the instructions are very clear. All learners will be expected to remain muted during the first chunk of instruction and demonstrations so that everyone can listen to and understand the steps. However, once we finish the basic drawing, students will be able to chat with each other and share their artwork as they work on adding their own details, color, and finishing touches. Students will only need a basic understanding of working with a pencil and eraser to complete this class. I will be instructing with paper and pencil and most students will follow along with the same materials. However, learners are welcome to follow along using a digital drawing app instead if they have experience and prefer to do so.
