In this one time class, learn cute kawaii drawing techniques as we sketch, ink, and color cats drawn as food. Use colored pencils or watercolor paint for coloring. We will make a cat pizza, cat donut, cat sushi, and cat taco.

Description

Class Experience

In this drawing class, we will learn how to cats as food! Food cats can be funny, and I encourage students to illustrate the cats with funny expressions and poses. I will introduce the kawaii style of drawing (from the Japanese for cute). The types of food cats we will draw are pizza cat, donut cat, taco cat, and sushi cat. If we have additional time, we can also draw other fun foods as cats. Students will be encouraged to use their imaginations.

Students will learn sketching, inking and coloring skills.
Students will learn about creating expressive artwork that show emotion and feeling. 
Students will gain confidence in their artistic skills.

I don't rush students to finish their projects. Therefore, some learners will finish during class time and others will finish outside of class.

Materials List: art paper (no lines please), a pencil, an eraser, ultra fine tip Sharpie marker, watercolor paints or colored pencils. If using watercolors, please have a selection of brushes, clean water and paper towels.

50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
