If you love animals and want to improve your digital art, then this is the class for you! Every week we will draw a different cute animal cartoon together using Procreate on our iPads. The teacher will give step-by-step instruction, but learners are highly encouraged to experiment, be creative, and customize their drawing! Our goal is to have fun and develop creativity while learning more about how to use Procreate. We will begin with a quick sketch using basic geometrical shapes, then we...
Students will learn how to create a quick sketch using basic geometrical shapes. They will learn basic art concepts such as lighting and shadows, and they will explore many of the features in the Procreate app such as layers, layer modes, various brushes, adjusting colors, and more! Experimentation is encouraged as learners develop their creativity.
A pet portrait and wildlife artist with over 25 years of pencil sketching experience, and over 20 years of acrylic painting experience. I have been teaching since 2014 and have been teaching art to kids since 2020.
Homework Offered
Students may need extra time to complete their artwork if they are unable to finish it during class time.Assessments Offered

We will be using the app Procreate to make art in this class. This app costs about $13 USD and will need to be purchased and downloaded before class begins. An Apple ID is required to make purchases in the Apple Store. This app can only be used on Apple iPads and is not available on Android tablets. *If learners want to use another software (such as Photoshop, Krita, Clip Studio Paint, GIMP, etc.), they must be familiar with the program and have a basic knowledge of how to create layers, choose colors, and change brushes. While the basic skills we will be covering are transferable to other software, I am most familiar with Procreate and I may not be able to help learners with specific issues they might encounter using alternative software.
