In this class we will explore the wonderful world of mixed media while creating a beautiful pineapple.🍍 The focus of this lesson is how to create texture using a variety of art mediums. Learners will be given easy to follow, step-by-step directions to create an outline of a pineapple. Details will include the crown (leafy top), texture and a shadow. Next, we use crayons to prepare our artworks for the wax-resist technique. A demonstration will be provided. Learners will also be shown how to use a combination of art mediums to create a rough texture. We will discuss fun pineapple facts throughout the class. At the end of the lesson, learners may present their pineapples to the class. I cannot wait to see the beautiful masterpiece that you create! The benefits of creating mixed media art: *Learners learn to experiment with different art mediums & learn how to take creative risks. *Mixing art mediums boosts decision-making skills and self-confidence. *Learners can develop their unique style. *Mixing art mediums provides an opportunity for self-expression. *Learners can invent new ways of thinking, which extends beyond the art classroom. 👉This class will not be cancelled due to low enrollment.

I have been an art educator for over 25 years. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Art Education (K-12) from the University of Central Oklahoma. I have taught in public schools, private schools, as well as homeschool co-op groups and private lessons. I have been teaching art on Outschool since August 2021.
