Beginner Level
In this 40-minute class, young artists will learn how to draw a fire engine, following step-by-step instructions. All they need is paper, a pencil, and an eraser; color pencils, markers, or crayons are optional. This small group class ensures individual attention and won't cancel due to low enrollment. We'll start with a teacher-led review of lines and shapes, encouraging artists to practice as they watch the demonstration. Then, we'll begin drawing the fire engine, allowing students to get creative with their designs. Following this, it's time to add details! We'll explore various fire trucks and their unique features, discussing engaging facts that my firefighter husband told me. Throughout the class, students can freely ask questions, receiving additional assistance when needed. Finally, they'll have the opportunity to share their fantastic fire engine drawings with their peers in our creative, relaxed environment. We'll cover art vocabulary, focusing on different types of lines, shapes, and spatial concepts like overlapping, foreground, middle ground, and background."
