Class Experience

 Let's do the "Twist" braid (and Fishtail Braid!)  Aunt Sam will teach you the how to Fishtail Braid and Twist Braid (a Twist/Rope braid that REALLY stays in.) This is a hands-on hair class. You will need both hands free to work the braid. It is preferred that the student does not use earphones, thus allowing freedom of movement. 
This course will be very interactive. The teacher will give live demonstrations of each braid as the students practice alongside. The teacher will move at the pace...

The students will be learning:

- The Fishtail Braid and Twist Braid.
- Review other braids, if time permits

I started braiding my hair when I was 14, trying different braids. Now, with 6 daughters, I've braided their hair for over 25 years! I've taught all of those daughters how to braid, I look forward to teaching you!

Practice Braiding on a Friend

A Friend's shoulder length (or a little longer) head of hair combed out (friend does not need to pay for the class)
Or mannequin head with a long hair wig (the mannequin's hair must also be at least shoulder length or a little longer)
Comb and brush
Spray Bottle (to wet hair)
Hair ties
We have found that the Friend/Mom's hair is the best to work on.  The team work makes a difference and the friend can hold sections of hair for the learner.

50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
