Welcome to MUA Co-op school of makeup artistry. We teach aspiring makeup artists, makeup enthusiasts, cosplay lovers, and theater students how to use their creativity and ingenuity to create character cosplays on a budget using makeup artistry and simple costume design. We empower students to have fun, be themselves, love and respect themselves and others, be confident and outgoing, foster a spirit of community, and explore the breadth of their creativity through artistry. Above all else, we aim to teach students to be their most authentic and joyful self through the art of makeup. All skill levels are welcomed and encouraged to participate! We empower students to create a character cosplay of their own choosing. However, students may choose to follow on directly with the teacher. Students will learn by verbal instruction and live demonstration of the complete process. This is a free talk class! Students are free to have fun talking about their looks, what inspires them, and getting into character!
Learning Goals
Students will complete their own makeup look start to finish! Teacher will be creating their own makeup look as well! Get as creative as you want!
Please be aware that SFX makeup looks are permissible.

Parental Guidance
Please exercise safety and supervision. Please be aware of possible allergic reactions.
We ask that students receive permission to repurpose anything into a costume piece. Students will go over rules together.
Often makeup artists will utilize their neck and chest as a canvas to paint on. Please be aware of this. Teachers and students may wear a sleeveless shirt for these looks.
Please also be aware, as we are new to this platform, we will be training our talented teachers! Each class will have up to two Outschool approved and MUA Co-op trained teachers to help and join in on the fun!
Supply List
Teacher will provide a detailed list of products and tools they will be using. However, teachers emphasize ingenuity and improvisation. There are many ways to achieve the same makeup look and teacher will help students to find a suitable substitution found within their own makeup kits. For students that don't have any products or tools of their own, we have starter kits available for every budget (optional). Remember, everyone will be creating their own unique looks! So teacher's supply list is just a guide of commonly used supplies. Work with what you have to create your original look!
