In this lesson we will begin to dive into the key components of writing a complete paragraph. We will center our lesson on forming a main topic sentence, and writing details to give support to the main topic sentence. We will also construct a concluding sentence. Students will listen to a paragraph and then find the main topic sentence. We will write our own paragraph about the topic "What I like to do over the summer". We will then share our writings and find our topic sentences and supporting sentences, along with our concluding sentence. I am certified to teach English/Language Arts and Elementary Education.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, my name is Teacher Carrie. I have been teaching students for 22 years! I started my career with teaching preschool age classes for two years. I then taught middle school to high school age English/ Language Arts for 8 1/2 years. After teaching high school English I then taught a kindergarten tutoring class, which specialized in learning the beginning parts of reading. I was employed for 4 years working with the Kindergarten students. Currently, I teach English as a second language over the computer. I am a very energetic and fun teacher! I like to make learning enjoyable. I strongly believe that a classroom that is engaging and upbeat will help a student become successful in what they are learning. I enjoy spending most of my time outdoors playing ball with my children. I have coached softball and helped coach baseball in the past.
