Class experience
This class will discuss the basics of harmonious colors and complementary colors. Learners have fun experimenting with how to use different colors. During each session, students will practice blending, shading, mixing and overlapping colors. Rozine guides students step-by-step, drawing basic geometric shapes. She will encourage students to creatively divide the shape in half. Each part of the shape will be blended using harmonious colors, with the halves complementing each other. She will...
Research shows there is a significant connection between arts and achievement. Drawing and coloring develops many talents, such as: • fine motor skills • spatial reasoning • objectivity • visualization • self-discipline • creative problem-solving
Since 2005, Rozine taught cartooning classes to elementary-aged, inner-city children in Chicago and Los Angeles. She is the illustrator, author, and publisher of several all-age coloring activity books. Rozine also has several large-scale murals in Southern California and Chicago, Illinois. She creates a relaxing atmosphere, encouraging connection amongst others, as well as confident self-expression.
1 file available upon enrollmentMaterials are dependent on students' skill level and access to supplies. Any kind of unlined paper will work, but sketch pads will offer the best results for aspiring artists. Pencils and erasers are a must-have. Rulers, templates, or geometric objects for tracing would be useful for students not confident in their drawing skills. The class will be demonstrated with colored pencils, yet seasoned artists could apply the same techniques with watercolors, paint, pastels, or chalk. Some tips will be offered to students not using colored pencils, but this is not a demonstration for first-time painters. Please note: crayons, markers, and colored pens are not great for blending, but can be used if nothing else is available.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Inspired by Waldorf teaching methods, Rozine encourages independent thinking and creative problem solving in the classroom. Like the title of her first book, "Live Life For A Living," Rozine is living a dream making a living doing what she loves....
