"If you see someone without a smile, give them yours" and " How beautiful a day can be when kindness touches it" are just two inspiring quotes to understand the importance of being kind to others. Kindness will be the important theme/topic in this fun interactive art class. Students will be taught the importance of being kind to others by reading and discussing several scenarios during class. The learners will discuss if the scenario shows kind or unkind behavior. Next, the students will complete a short activity and write words that describe a friend. Then students will write about a time they were kind to someone and share it with the class. As a final art project, students will decorate kindness rocks, write fun quotes on them, or turn them into pet rocks with googly eyes. Students will be encouraged to make someone happy and give the rock to a friend or family member. If time allows, students can decorate more than one rock. If students want to paint a background, please paint the rock a day before the class to give the paint time to dry. This class will be taught through discussions and a slide show. Learners will have plenty of interaction with me as well as other students. My teaching style is energetic and fun!! I encourage students to interact, share ideas, and participate in discussions. Writing activities will be provided upon enrollment. Upon completion of the class, students will receive a Kindness Rockstar certificate that can be downloaded and printed from the classroom!! No knowledge or experience is required.
