Description
Class Experience
Day 1 -- we will learn about how to create a mandala by using radial symmetry and repeating patterns, inspired by patterns found in nature. We will design our own "practice mandala" using the PDF template provided in the classroom. Please print this template and have it ready for class on the first day. At the end of class, we will prep for our final watercolor mandala by painting the background using the "wet on wet" technique with watercolors! Day 2 -- we will learn how to make our own...
Students will focus on drawing symbols and images that are significant to them. They will understand line of symmetry, radial symmetry, and symmetrical balance. Their symbols and images will be drawn into original mandalas. Students will also learn to blend watercolors and explore the effects and techniques of watercolor painting.
