Class Experience

Students will learn how to create their own products using the Cricut machine and learn how to use Design Space and create appropriate projects in the right size.
I have been a teacher for 10 years, working with students as young as pre-school and through college, and have been a home business owner for 3 years. I have used the Cricut for many different items in my shop, along with personal daily uses, and even in my classroom. I love teaching friends and family how to make new items, along with sharing my designs with others. I teach simplistically to optimize learning in an explained step-by-step approach so users can follow along and complete the tasks with me.
Students will not have homework other than preplanning and preparing for projects of interest for this class, as projects require materials depending on what students are looking to learn to make.
Basic Requirements: Cricut Machine Standard grip/light grip mats (standard grip will be used for many projects, light grip is optional for cardstock but not necessary) Weeding Tools Iron/Cricut Press Optional Supplies (will vary based on project of interest): -Vinyl -Iron On Material -Cardstock -Attachments (many projects require different attachments, please message ahead of time if you are unsure which one you will need) - Mats (different projects require different strength adhesive- please message ahead of time to verify the mat needed) -Other supplies TBD as projects are requested.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will demonstrate mastery through the completion of the project they create.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students will be in Design Space, and will be using a Cricut. I will review safety tips, but please be sure to be nearby during projects, or explain safety with your child. In addition, in-app purchases are possible in Design Space. Please have your account not set up to purchase without a credit card, or be with your child during design to prevent in-app purchases.
