Description

Class Experience

I am a Certified Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher in New York. I have worked with children for years, teaching them how to cook and become confident in the kitchen.
This class will ask students to post comments as well as a photo or video of their creations on the Outschool discussion board, and participate in a variety of challenge activities and games. They will also be asked to follow the teacher demonstrations, cooking the recipe each week. Students are encouraged to try out their dishes!
I will provide an ingredient and equipment list for the first week one week before class begins. Every Monday, the ingredient list for the next week will be posted.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
  • Nearpod
  • Youtube
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Parental Guidance may be needed to assist the student in the kitchen. Please notify the teacher of any food allergies. Substitutions can be made for most recipes. Gluten-Free options available.

One week prior to class starting, students will be provided a list of ingredients and equipment needed for that week. Ingredient lists will be posted one week in advance for each recipe. Recipes can be located under the "classroom" tab.
