Description
Class Experience
In this 4-week course, students will learn how to make 4 different main entrees. This class will not meet live. In this class, I will provide weekly step-by-step videos of a dinner that can feed a family of 2-4. I will also be providing recipes that can be printed out. Students will be using a number of different cooking tools including stove and oven, measuring cups and spoons, knives, etc. Students will gain a basic knowledge of how to follow a recipe step-by-step. 1 week before class...
Students will participate in weekly discussion boards, post pictures of the entree they have made and also come up with their own recipes.
I will provide a supply list a week before for the next meal. For the first week these are the supplies that are needed: A pound and a half of ground beef 1 package of McCormick spaghetti mix 1 can of tomato paste- oregano garlic basal mix 1 3/4 cup of water Italian seasoning 6 lasagna noodles 12 oz of cottage cheese 2 cups of mozzarella cheese Students will also need an oven friendly baking pan, aluminum foil, a stovetop friendly pan to cook the beef in, a pot to boil the lasagna noodles in, a strainer to drain the grease from the beef, measuring cups, a medium-size bowl, a silicone spoon, or a utensil that is stovetop friendly that can be used for the ground beef.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Due to the fact that we will be working around hot stoves and ovens and sharp knives parents may want to supervise their children during the cooking.
