What's included

30 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In this class, We will work on our inward-bound adventures through coloring and writing about ourselves, our world, and our daydreams. As students color, we will work together to develop a short story based on the topic each week. There will be different drawing or coloring activities to help support the lesson. Each class is to help get students thinking while sparking their imagination. I will use a blackboard to write the story as students develop the plot each week. The story will be available after class for those who would want to share it with family. This class intends to introduce students to developing their unique writing voice through peer support and classroom feedback. The goals of this class is to create a picture and a story based on the theme and the prompts discussed in class. They can also practice their fine-motor development coloring the pictures. Though the prompts and exercises may change per class, the flow will remain the same: - Introduction - Activity Prompt (Parts of Speech Prompt) Introduction - Art: Prompted Drawing or Coloring Activity - Writing: Prompted Writing or Word Activity - Everyone reads (If they feel comfortable) - Check-in - Our Goodbye's I want this class to promotes a sense of calm. Writing our thoughts out on paper forces us to come to terms with the things we're feeling—the goal In each class to get students to write descriptively and authentically. It is a low-pressure class that challenges our thoughts and ideas. This class is for those who like to write and draw. We will work together to inspire and learn from one another. Some things to mention: It's an on-going class to help establish a method of writing with accountability and recognition. There is no grade or judgment in the class, but I will give weekly feedback or update to student or parent. I ask that each student respect each other's time and input. I do ask that students are not late. Unfortunately, I may not be able to admit students who are more than 10 minutes late because it is a time-sensitive activity. If you are late and could not get into the classroom, we can transfer your child to another date. Just let me know of the requested to transfer the day of the missed class. I don't issue refunds for missed classes. For the safety of all classes, I asked that all students who are not verified show their faces at the beginning of class. Those who refuse will be placed in the waiting room or removed from the class. Thank you for your consideration in this course. Please reach out with any questions you may have. Have a wonderful day!

Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Rhode Island College
I try to incorporate mindfulness and creativity into all of my classes. My teaching philosophy is that all students are individuals and unique learners that must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. I desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. I will provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and where mistakes are considered education victories.
I combine my skills as a reading specialist, an English tutor, an ESL instructor, and small class teaching with my love of the classics, and mindfulness to create a fun and engaging class for your child.
