In this class, your child can color a picture from a coloring book, or they can bring a blank paper to class and we can draw and color together as we talk. Their picture can reflect the topic, or they can create something entirely different. I created this class to help children socialize virtually. While each child is coloring their own picture, they will be learning about others, talking about their lives, and learning about the topic of the week. My goal for the class is that it will help encourage them to socialize, teach them ways to help someone, and to feel comfortable talking to others. I want this class to be enjoyable for your child, but also to encourage them to step out of their comfort zone and learn something new. Below you will find the topics of the upcoming weeks: July 30 - How can we help around the house? How does someone help you? August 6 - Is learning about someone important? August 13 - Who lives in your house? What is your favorite thing about each person in your house? August 20 - What is your favorite holiday or family tradition? August 27 - Have you ever felt left out? September 3 - What is your favorite hobby? September 10 - Let's talk about pets! Do you have one? Do you want one? September 17 - What are you proud of? What are some things that make you feel proud? September 24 - Birthdays! Let's have a pretend birthday party for all of us! If you have any suggestions for class topics, I would love to hear them! I am flexible and always open to new ideas.

Teacher expertise and credentials
**After over 3 years with Outschool, I will be taking a break starting September 27, 2023 to handle family matters. I appreciate all of the families that have trusted me to be a part of their child's education. I hope to see you soon!**
Hello! My name is Stefanie. I am new to Outschool, but not new to online teaching. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education. I am a mom of 2 children (ages 6 and 5) and live in Ohio. I have been a classroom teacher as an intern, a preschool teacher, a teacher's aide, a substitute teacher. I have been a nanny and taught online to children in China before joining Outschool. I taught them how to speak and write in English. We also explored math, science, social studies, and the culture in America. I have been teaching online for a three years and LOVE it! I have taught over 1,200 classes on Outschool and would love to meet your child!

One of my online students recently asked me, "Why did you want to become a teacher?" This child didn't realize how important this question was to me. I was taken aback because it had been a while since someone asked me WHY. I explained to her that watching someone learn something for the first time, or UNDERSTAND something after attempting to understand it is why I do this. One large goal and part of my classroom management is to allow the students to understand that they should be apart of their learning. I am not only teaching to them, I'm allowing them to be a big part of their education.
I set expectations for myself as a teacher and a person. I want to be accountable for my actions, responsible for my education, to teach with passion detail, and encouragement. My main goal is to display past goals and expectations through achievements. Though we are learning through video, I want to incorporate fine and large motor development opportunities, real-life experiments, and experimental learning. I will provide a loving, respectful, safe, and supportive risk-free environment.
I hope to see your child in my classroom soon! Thank you for taking the time to read this! -Teacher Stefanie
