Class Experience
This class is a continuation of "Lets Code a Robot". During this class, students will do the following task. Day 1: 5 min - Students will spend 5 minutes introducing themselves( name, age, grade, and state/country). 5 min - The teacher will Review Lesson on coding site 15min - The teacher will bring up a coding program then students will be given challenges to complete as a group. The teacher will call on each student to help complete the challenge one or two lines on code at a time. The teacher will drag over the block code and run the blocky program after each student. This will repeat until the challenge is solved 5 min - The teacher will discuss the homework which will reinforce the lesson. The teacher will post the homework in Outschool. Day 2 : 5 min - Discuss Homework from the previous class. Students share homework with the teacher fo review. 5 min - Lesson: Drive train Speed and Pen 15 min - The teacher will bring up a coding program then students will be given challenges to complete as a group. The teacher will call on each student to help complete the challenge one or two lines on code at a time. The teacher will drag over the block code and run the blocky program after each student. This will repeat until the challenge is solved 5 min - The teacher will discuss the homework which will reinforce the lesson. The teacher will post the homework in Outschool. Day 3 : 5 min - Discuss Homework from the previous class. Students share homework with the teacher fo review. 5 min - Lesson: Loops 15 min - The teacher will bring up a coding program then students will be given challenges to complete as a group. The teacher will call on each student to help complete the challenge one or two lines on code at a time. The teacher will drag over the block code and run the blocky program after each student. This will repeat until the challenge is solved 5min - The teacher will discuss the homework which will reinforce the lesson. The teacher will post the homework in Outschool. Day 4 : 5 min - Discuss Homework from the previous class. 5 min - Lesson: Magnet and various playgrounds. 15 min - The teacher will bring up a coding program then students will be given challenges to complete as a group. The teacher will call on each student to help complete the challenge one or two lines on code at a time. The teacher will drag over the block code and run the blocky program after each student. This will repeat until the challenge is solved 5 min - The teacher will discuss the homework which will reinforce the lesson. The teacher will post the homework in Outschool.
I am an Electrical Engineer but have been programming various languages for over 20 years. I also have been teaching VEX Robotics for over 7 years.
They will be given a challenge and have to create code to solve it. Parents will need to help students with homework.
