Class Experience

In this one time class learners will learn what the Winter Solstice is! We will open up the class with an introduction and talk about the season of winter, then we will learn what the Winter Solstice is (the day of the year with the longest night!) We will read a short story written by the author "Starhawk" about the longest night of the year and the children welcoming the sun! In this short story the author tells the story a short tale about thanking the sun for it's life giving rays and being excited about the growing days. In this class students will get to make a drawing of the sun with Teacher Sam and we will talk about how to let our stuffed animals watch the sun in our picture, symbology for the days getting longer. We will talk about fun things we can do for the Winter Solstice, like making cookies, making wreaths and enjoying our families! This is meant to be a creative and social time for young learners to celebrate the season of Winter.
Learning Goals

Hello!
I am an English tutor and an ESL teacher with a TESOL certificate. I have been working as an English tutor for 5 years! I have a passion for teaching children and have been working creating curriculum and teaching children in a preschool setting for 12 years. During this time I enjoyed using nature to inspire children and utilizing the beauty of the natural world to inspire a love of language. I am a bright, enthusiastic teacher who loves to utilize singing and dancing in the classroom. I love to make children smile and laugh often. My goal is to make learning a truly
memorable experience for children in the virtual classroom- to make the experience come alive for them. I am a mother of three children and I enjoy organic gardening, cooking, reading, playing guitar and homeschooling my children. I am an avid hiker and love to spend time outside hiking and being in nature.

🖊 I perform private tutoring in English and early reading. Prices negotiable. Please message me if you are interested.

🖊 If you are interested in an English or grammatical lesson I do not offer, please message me and I can try to accommodate.

🖊 Feel free time reach out with any questions!
