In this class, students will enjoy a read aloud of the delightful and important book "It's OK to be Different" by Sharon Purtill. The book focuses on differences in appearance, hobbies and skills but stresses how looks are not what makes a person important and that no matter how someone looks, it's still important to be kind and inclusive. With so much discussion of race in the US, it is critical that young children understand that differences are to be noticed and celebrated! As they are...

Due to the students ages, I obviously will not touch on the racial tensions happening in the US. This will just be a light, fun class to listen to a story and share about what makes each of us unique.
Just bring your listening ears! Feel free to bring a stuffed animal or a pillow to get cozy.
