Our current national events have opened up much needed conversations in many families. Little ones need to learn about the topic of diversity and unity in a way that is age appropriate and direct. I have used the book, “It’s Okay To Be Different” by Todd Parr to introduce this topic to many classrooms and my own children! We will use our favorite stuffed animals to help acknowledge how differences are among us and should be celebrated! One child may bring a purple bear, while another child brings a blue one! We will discuss those differences and apply it through the eyes of the young child. Let’s learn to celebrate the differences that make us so special! BONUS ACTIVITY: Students may complete the attached coloring sheet as an enrichment to our study. We will go over it in class, but it is optional to complete on their own.

My style of teaching is outgoing, kind and encouraging. I am married with three children, a seven year old son and one year old twins, so patience is definitely a virtue of mine as well!
