US Grade 8 - 10
This course is a 2-day bootcamp that will examine the meaning, synonym, and antonym of words used in context. Take this following my Let's Build Our Vocabulary Bootcamp: PSAT/SAT Course I, Course II, Course III, Course IV, Course V, Course VI, Course VII, or take it as a newcomer. This is the eighth course in a series. All are welcome. This is a new set of words. During week one we will cover 20 brand new vocabulary words. During week two we will continue to build our vocabulary by learning a second set of 20 new vocabulary words. Students will practice using words in their own sentences after learning new words or solidifying the meanings of words they do recognize. My teaching style is engaging and participatory. I strive to create a classroom environment that has a serious and comfortable sense of purpose. Learners do not need any previous experience or knowledge. I will introduce words and then encourage each student to take calculated risks. We will practice the vocabulary words together by taking turns, so that everyone has the opportunity to participate in telling a collaborative story. Students will share the newly acquired vocabulary words in their own fun, creative, innovative sentences. The stories are always original and usually a bit zany.
