Class Experience

Are you Braider? Need some review? Want to learn? Aunt Sam, will teach you the basics of Braiding and MORE! This is a hands-on hair braiding class. You will need both hands free to work the braid. It is preferred that the student does not use headphones, thus allowing freedom of movement.

This course will be very interactive. There will not be a presentation or a lecture; rather Aunt Sam will give live a demonstration of each braid as the students practice alongside. Aunt Sam will move at the pace of the students while answering questions and giving feedback along the way. She will then work individually with each student. This ongoing class is a combination of Aunt Sam's One-time braiding classes, her camp and more advanced braiding.

We plan to start basic braiding the First week of December with Holiday Hairstyles, depending on interest and need of students.

We will move in a natural progression so that students are prepared for each stage and do not become overwhelmed. Power Point slides/Pictures will be provided each week. See you in class!

The students will need a head of hair to practice on; a mannequin (secured) a sibling, a doll (also secured tightly) or a friend with medium length, thick hair. We have found that the Friend/Mom's hair is best to work on. The team work makes a difference and the friend can hold sections of hair for the learner as he/she braids. See you in class!
Learning Goals
The students will be learning:

- The Braid/Hairstyle of the week.

I started braiding my hair when I was 14 and kept trying different braids. Now, with 6 daughters, I've braided their hair for over 25 years! I've taught all of my daughters different braiding styles and I look forward to teaching you!
