Class experience
Calling all space explorers! Are you ready to blast off and explore outer space? Then let's board our rocket ships! Day 1 - Let's learn about our closest star, The Sun! Learners will begin class with a quick ice breaker to help them get to know each other! They can bring a sun toy or picture of the sun to class so that they can share what they know about the sun with others. . We will read a book about the sun called, "Sun: One in a Billion" by Stacy McAnulty. Learners will be encouraged...
Learners will investigate different objects in outer space. Learners will practice their social skills by talking with friends and taking turns listening and speaking. Learners will improve their reading comprehension and vocabulary by listening to fun books. Learners will practice their creativity and fine motor skills by drawing and crafting. Learners will practice their writing skills by writing in complete sentences. Learners will use their imaginations to write stories or their background knowledge to write information.
6 files available upon enrollmentOptional Coloring Sheets and Graphic Organizers provided in the class files. Learners may want to bring their favorite space toys to camp. Learners will need art supplies, such as paper, crayons, markers, paint. If the learner does not want to make a craft, they are welcome to draw or paint pictures! Craft supplies needed are: Paper towel/toilet paper rolls Paper plates Streamers or Pipe Cleaners Construction paper Clay or play dough Scissors, glue, or a stapler Box lid or poster board Clear plastic bottle Star confetti or glitter Blue and/or purple food coloring Mineral or Baby Oil
