US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
Welcome to "Let's be Thankful With Elephant and Piggie". During this class, students will listen to The Thank You Book by Mo Willems. We will practice reading comprehension throughout the story. We will also discuss what we are thankful for and begin a thankfulness activity at the end of the lesson. Please note that while we will begin the activity in class, not all students will complete it before the end of the lesson. This is okay as it is something that can be continued in the home. While this class is popular around Thanksgiving, I am now going to offer it throughout the year. I think it is important to talk about things we are thankful for year round! Students will be encouraged to work together in an accepting and caring environment. I can't wait to see you for story time with Elephant and Piggie! Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, I am teacher Amber, and I am so happy to meet you. I am a certified music teacher (K-12) and special educator. I taught music full time for six years as a brick and mortar teacher in a public elementary school, as well as a non-public school for student with special needs. After having my son, I began teaching ESL online and have taught English lessons for the past 2.5+ years. I hold my B.S. in Music Education K-12 and have my M.Ed in Special Education. Growing up, I knew I wanted to be a teacher and have worked with learners ages 1 through 21 in multiple facets since high school.
I have a passion for working with learners of all abilities and allowing them to be creative exactly as they are. I love teaching music concepts to students using fun and engaging activities. I believe children learn best when they are having fun and are in a positive environment. I am always looking for inventive ways to help my students enjoy and remember musical elements. I understand the importance of mulit-modal teaching, and strive to apply this in my lessons to reach all learners.
In my classes, your learner will be met with a kind, encouraging and patient teacher who is ready to teach AND learn! I welcome curiosity and I promise that if I don't know the answer, I will try to find it so I can keep learning too! I am looking forward to teaching lessons on Outschool, and I cannot wait to meet you.
