In this one time course, students will learn about what it takes to be a superhero!

Students will discuss some of their favorite superheroes. We will talk about the different qualities and superpowers that superheroes have (brains, bravery, honesty). We will learn about superheroes those qualities and how we can show those qualities. We will act out the different superpowers that superheroes have as well. We will read from:the book: My First Book of Super Powers by David Katz. Students will draw themselves as a superhero and will create their own superhero masks as they learn about qualities they have that will help them to be superheroes! Students are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite superheroes. They can also bring a few of their favorite superheroes to help guide our discussion and share with their friends.
Learning Goals
Students will learn admirable qualities that superheroes have, that they can practice in their daily life.
Students will enjoy listening to a story about superheroes and discussing the book.
Other Details
Supply List
Students are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite superheroes. They can also wear a superhero clothes or bring any of their favorite superhero toys to show and share with other learners during our superhero conversation! Students will be provided with coloring sheets (masks and superhero picture) that they can draw and decorate in class. Students should print out one (You as a superhero page) and can choose (at least 1) mask to print out and decorate. Students should bring crayons, markers, and/or a pencil to color and draw with!
