Let's Bake Yummy Vegan Desserts! Brownies, Bread, Sorbet & Bars - FLEX 14 To 18
In this 4-week FLEX class, we will bake delicious vegan brownies, pumpkin bread, strawberry sorbet, and lemon bars. This class includes easy dessert recipes and is geared for teens ages 14 to 18.

Description
Class Experience
Every week, students will need to read the recipes, watch the video lessons, answer questions, create their dish, find Ollie, and post a photo or video of their dish on the discussion board. Students can have fun with their photos or make a "cooking show" video describing their creations.
Students will need typical baking supplies (bowls, cookie sheets, parchment paper, etc.) and the ingredients listed below: Vegan brownies: all-purpose flour, white sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, water, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Vegan pumpkin bread: all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, pumpkin pie spice, salt, vanilla extract, non-dairy milk, coconut oil or applesauce, 100% pumpkin puree, and pepitas (optional). Vegan strawberry sorbet: sugar, cornstarch, water, and strawberries. Vegan lemon bars: vegan butter, granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, salt, lemon juice, lemon zest (optional), full-fat coconut milk, cornstarch, turmeric (optional for color), and powdered sugar (optional for dusting the top of bars).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
Students will be preparing dishes at home and may need to use the stove, oven, microwave, knives, and/or small appliances. Young students may need some parental help. Please review the recipes every week to be aware of any allergy concerns.
