In this one-time live class, I will be teaching the kids how to bake one of my favorite holiday cookies with a twist. This recipe is a take on the classic chocolate crinkle cookies which are available all year round but most popular during the holiday season because of the snowy-like effect of the powdered sugar against either the chocolate or purple yam cookie. INGREDIENTS 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. kosher salt 1 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temperature) 1 large egg (room temperature) 1/2 cup ube halaya jam (room temperature) 1 tsp purple food coloring 1 tsp ube extract 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract 1 cup confectioner's sugar EQUIPMENT: measuring cups and spoons stand mixer with paddle attachment or hand mixer mixing bowl (2) spatula cookie tray/sheet (2) parchment paper or silicone mat (preferred)
