Ube (pronounced OO-BEH), is a yam originally from the Philippines. It's a purple sweet potato that is closely related to the orange sweet potatoes you are familiar with. We'll bake them into a delicious and beautiful UBE crinkle cookie.

Class Experience
INGREDIENTS 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. kosher salt 1 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temperature) 1 large egg (room temperature) 1/2 cup ube halaya jam (room temperature) 1 tsp purple food coloring 1 tsp ube extract 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract 1 cup confectioner's sugar EQUIPMENT: measuring cups and spoons stand mixer with paddle attachment or hand mixer mixing bowl (2) spatula cookie tray/sheet (2) parchment paper or silicone mat (preferred)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parental guidance is strongly advised for the use of the stove and handling hot items.
