45 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this 45 minute class you will learn how to make classic cut sugar cookies. We will cover step by step how to measure ingredients properly, mix ingredients, roll out cookie dough, and make assorted fun shapes. Any shapes will do but I recommend simple easy to cut out shapes (circles, stars, cupcakes, etc). At the start of the class we will introduce ourselves then get immediately started on how to measure ingredients properly. I will then walk everyone through step by step together how to make, cut out, and bake the dough. We will end each class discussing what we learned and of course eating a cookie! Or two. I teach by showing you first so that you know exactly what to do. This process is very interactive and I welcome questions as they come up. If you have a question it will be likely that someone else will have the same question too. For this class I recommend that learners are able to identify all of their ingredients with basic understanding of 1 cup, 1/2 cup, 1 teaspoon, and 1 Tablespoon measurements. I recommend taking the follow up course "Let's Decorate Sugar Cookies" to learn how to make royal icing and decorate your cookies.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to make cookie dough from scratch, cut out the cookie dough and bake cookies.

Parental Guidance
Although not required I also recommend that each student has some experience putting cookie sheets in an oven and know how to set the temperature on their oven. If you do not have this experience a parent will need to be present near the beginning to set oven temperature and when putting items in and out of the oven.
