Description
Class Experience
Students will learn how to create "Pot of Gold" cupcakes - chocolate cakes with rainbow-striped frosting and a gold coin on top! Following this class students will know how to make buttercream frosting from scratch as well as execute the rainbow-striped piping technique for future cupcakes.
1 file available upon enrollmentCUPCAKE INGREDIENTS *Students should have their ingredients measured prior to class.* ▢ 1 pack of chocolate pudding mix ▢ 1 boxed chocolate cake mix ▢ 1 cup of vegetable oil ▢ 1 cup of sour cream ▢ 4 eggs at room temperature ▢ 1 tbsp vanilla extract ▢ 1 tbsp ground coffee mixed in ½ c hot water FROSTING INGREDIENTS *Students should have their ingredients measured prior to class.* ▢ 2 sticks of salted butter (room temperature) ▢ 1 tbsp vanilla extract ▢ 4 cups of powdered sugar ▢ 4-5 tablespoons of milk (or cream) SUPPLIES *Students should have their supplies prepared and on-hand for class.* • electric hand or stand mixer with attachments • measuring cups/spoons • 2 large-sized mixing bowls (if not using a standing mixer with bowl attachment) • spatula • cookie scoop (or ladle to transfer batter) • 2 x 12 cupcake pans • piping bag (or large ziploc bag) • large pipping tip • 24 chocolate gold coins • 24 cupcake liners • gel paste food coloring in Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parental supervision is encouraged if your learner needs help with the oven and/or piping bags. Please note that parents should remain off camera while providing any supervision. Thank you!
