Description

Class Experience

Something that I have appreciated about cooking and baking is understanding the “why” factor. Why am I measuring this in this manner? I will explain the “why” during this class and help each learner not just make great donuts, but to take these skills in everyday baking.
At the end of class, we will review the tips given in class to help each learner retain what we learned.
I am a self made baker of over 20 years. Growing up with my grandparents living with me from the age of ten, I grew up with a love for food. They would always be cooking and baking away, with delicious smells coming from the kitchen. The love they put into their food is something I like to imitate. I have baked a variety of deserts from large to small to for special occasions. I have invested in cooking and baking classes. I will share what I have learned and what not to do. Baking is fun, and I look forward to having fun with you.
Equipment: - 2 donut pans (It is an investment but once you see how easy donuts are, you will be happy you have them.) Each pan should hold 6 donuts. Diameter of the donut wells will vary. If the wells are 2.25-inch, you will yield 24 donuts. If the wells are 3.25-inch, you will yield 12 donuts. - small pot - measuring cups, measuring spoons - one large mixing bowl - spatual - whisk, forks, butter knife - 4 medium sized wide mouth bowls - cooling rack placed on top of baking sheet (lined with foil) - cake pedestal (optional to show off your baked goods) - stovetop - oven - oven mittens - meat mallet for cookie crumble
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parental guidance is needed as we will be using the stove and oven. Of course, I will have a careful and close eye on each learner during class. I will also review the safety procedures being in the kitchen before each task that is given. I do ask that the bacon is cooked and ready to use as well as the butter melted and slightly cooled.
It is encouraged for each learner to have their video on. By doing so, I can help and ensure each learner is safe and has a beautiful donut.
