Description
Class Experience
In this weekly baking club, learners will bake one simple recipe each week. Each week will feature one baked good, baking techniques, and measuring. Students will make everything from scratch and get hands-on experience with baking. This is meant to be a fun, social club where we can bake together and chit chat as we go. I absolutely love baking. It started with helping my mom in the kitchen and now as I mother myself, I love making fun food items for my daughter. My husband and I love making food together and regularly make extravagant meals.
Biscuit Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 Tablespoon baking powder 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar 1 teaspoon salt 6 Tablespoons unsalted butter (very cold or frozen) ¾ cup milk Optional: extra butter (melted for tops of biscuits) Supplies: Oven Bowl Parchment paper Grater Wooden spoon Fork Sheet pan Measuring spoons and cups Cookie cutter (or something else to cut the biscuits with, I usually use a cup or mason jar ring) Optional: rolling pin Optional: small bowl Optional: basting brush
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class does involve using an oven, kitchen utensils, and stove top. I will cover safety tips but parental supervision is required throughout the class.
