Students will work on the acting skills necessary to take a screenplay and bring it to life. We'll work on movie and TV scenes you choose: Stranger Things, Star Wars, Marvel, the Mandalorian, Pixar, Disney....maybe the Last Airbender?
Class experience
This four session camp format class will allow learners to put acting skills into practice by using scripts they choose from their favorite television shows and films. DAY ONE: We'll introduce ourselves to each other and share our passions with a couple of quick drama games. We'll review the basics of acting: knowing what a character wants and how they use objectives to get it. We'll improvise and practice with scripts I provide. Students will learn the format of written screenplays. Students will learn how to take the written word on the page and bring it to life for the camera. Students will learn the basic parts of an actor's job and process in analyzing a script. Students will learn to work with others and offer and receive constructive criticism.
Scenes selected will be appropriate for this age group. PG.
